I have been inspired by the great powershell community to start blogging about my own experiences with powershell. I first tried powershell in beta in October 2006 when it was still known as Monad and was impressed with what I saw. I have found a file watcher script from MoW (great blog) in my script collection with a date stamp of 17 October 2006. Since then a dabbled a little and tried to use powershell instead of cmd. It wasn't until August 2007 when I made a concerted decision to increase my knowledge and purchased Bruce Payette's Powershell in Action. This was a great book, easy to understand and plenty of detail to get a good understanding of this new tool.
After reading the book cover-to-cover I really tried to take advantage of powershell in my daily work. I broadened my experience by completing the 2008 Winter Scripting Games and am now using it on a daily basis.
Over the next few months I'm hoping to use this blog to detail some of my real life experience with powershell and share some of the scripts I create.
